Events Photos & Videos

This is a collection of photos (hosted on Flickr), and videos (hosted on YouTube), from past events.

From 1992's National Music Day Parade in London, through 2007's Centenary of Scouting, and upto the present day.

Many of the events below has a "badge" which shows thumbnails of 3 random photos from the event. Click on a photo to view the photo in a larger size, some photos even have much larger sizes available than we have had before. You can even leave comments on the photo!

If you join Flickr (it is free to join) you can upload your own photos easily, and once approved they can be shown on this website too. Upload band photos to our "incoming" group on Flickr. I recommend using the following program to upload photos once you have created a Flickr account. Flickr Uploadr.

Thanks to the numerous contributors of photos to these pages, however we can always have more!

South East of England Contest - Hornchurch - 2006

Here are a couple of photos from the first of this year's competitions, held at Hornchurch in Essex. As the band hasn't competed for several years, and all of the youngsters haven't competed either, we entered the Novice Class. See the Contests Page for the full results.

St George's Day Parade - 2006

This year we did two parades. In the morning we did Walthamstow District's Parade, in a school playground in Walthamstow. Our Drum Major Gemma, leads the band at her own District's Parade. Gemma used to be drum major for the Walthamstow District Scout & Guide Band, which unfortunately closed last year.

In the afternoon we led Enfield District Scouts, and Enfield Division Guides in our usual big parade through the streets of Enfield Town.

Unlike the morning parade, the rain stayed away from Enfield Town. Some of us had had to clean the mud spatters off and repolish our shoes, but we still managed to give a polished display!

There are currently 6 photos in this set (view a slideshow).

Remembrance Sunday 2003

Each year, the band takes part in two Remembrance Sunday parades. In the morning, the senior band leads a parade of veterans from the Royal British Legion HQ to the Tottenham War Memorial, and our fanfare team plays the Last Post and Reveille, before and after the two minutes silence at 11am.

In the afternoon, the junior band joins the senior band for Enfield's parade. This time, the band leads Scout Leaders who represent Enfield District Scouts, to the Enfield War Memorial, for the Enfield service. Other bands also take part in the Enfield parade, including the Salvation Army band who provide the music for the hymns.

There is currently only 1 photo in this set.

Royal Visit 2003

Wednesday 15th October 2003 was our band's proudest day in our thirty year history!

Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth the Second and His Royal Highness the Duke of Edinburgh visited our home town of Enfield in North London. Part of the visit was to help celebrate the 700th anniversary of the granting of a Royal Charter to hold a market in the town. The marketplace is run by the Old Enfield Charitable Trust, who gave us a grant to purchase our new blue uniforms.

The band was invited by the Trust to take part in the visit, initially to entertain the crowds before and after the Queen attended. However before the Queen left, her Royal Equerry asked the band to play.

Most of our adult members took the day off work, and all of our younger members had the day off school. One of our youngest bugle players presented the Queen a bouquet of flowers, and our Bandmaster, got to speak with both the Queen and the Duke.

Enfield Town Show 2003

This photograph was taken at the Autumn Town Show, in Enfield's Town Park.

This was the 50th Anniversary Show and specially for the anniversary, the Portsmouth Band of Her Majesty's Royal Marines displayed and marched through Enfield Town.

This photo was taken by the band's helper John Cole, as we were just getting ready to go onto the arena for our display.
