Latest News from the BandThe website now has a collection of over 360 photos of the band, available for you to view online, on our Photos Page. This has been made possible by moving all of our photos onto Flickr.com. Below is a random selection of photos from our most recent events at the Scout Park Fete, and the Codicote Village Day. Reload this page to see more, or click any image to see it in a larger size. Note that you may need to use your Back button to return here. Another advantage is that if you join Flickr (it is free to join) you can upload your own photos easily, and once approved they can be shown on this website too. Upload band photos to our "incoming" group on Flickr. I recommend using the following program to upload photos once you have created a Flickr account. Flickr Uploadr.
New Logo for the Band
After 32 years in the making we have announced our new band logo. Richard Bennett, Bandmaster said: "Having assembled a first class marching band we felt it was time to launch a new band identity. After a successful 2007 where we jointly celebrated 100 years of Scouting, a new logo paves the way to create a renewed awareness of our involvement in Enfield District and Greater London North Scouts." Russell Grove, Joint Assistant Bandmaster & Percussion Section Leader said: "To be part of a community and showcase our band makes me very proud. Having been in the band for over 20 years I know how important the band is to local youth to provide them with skills to work as part of a team and build confidence." The new Band Logo was designed and donated by . About the band - NOW RECRUITING!The band is a traditional style corps of drums. As at May 2008, the band consists of one drum major, five side drummers, one quad-drums player, one bass drummer, four glocks players, one marimba player, sixteen buglers and two bass buglers. We are currently recruiting for the bugle section of the band. Do you run a Scout Group or Guide Company, in Enfield? We can run a whole evening for one of your sections, you can win from being able to sit back and have a laugh, and we can win by attracting new members to the Band. Your young people will learn drill and marching (useful for St George's Day and Church Parades), and get the chance to play a tune on a glockenspiel, bang the drums and blow a bugle! Contact our Bandmaster, Richard Bennett, to book the Band for an event, or ask him for more information about joining us as a playing member (you need to be a present or past member of the Scout or Guide Associations). | ||||||||||||||||||
