Latest News from the Band
Metropolitan Police Cadets Parade - 14th June 2009
This year's big event happened recently. We were asked to be one of four bands to lead divisions of the Met Police's Volunteer Cadets for their 21st Anniversary on Sunday 14th June in Central London.
The Parade was from Wellington Barracks, and marched down Birdcage Walk to Horse Guards Parade. The ceremonies was watched by over 7,000 people! After the ceromonies each band led their divisions up The Mall, past Buckingham Palace and back to the Barracks. All this happened the day after Trooping The Colour, and three days after the Royal Marines Massed Band had Beaten Retreat!
The other bands involved were the Metropolitan Police Pipe Band, the Nottinghamshire Police Pipe Band, and the British Airways Brass Band. The Boy's Brigade London Massed Bugle Band did a static display on Horse Guards Parade, during the time that the audience was assembling.

About the band - NOW RECRUITING!
The band is a traditional style corps of drums and consists of two drum majors, four side drummers, one quad-drums player, two bass drummers, two cymbalists, two glockenspiel players, one xylophone player, one marimba player, twelve buglers and one bass bugler. We are currently recruiting for the bugle section of the band.Do you run a Scout Group or Guide Company, in Enfield? We can run a whole evening for one of your sections, you can win from being able to sit back and have a laugh, and we can win by attracting new members to the Band. Your young people will learn drill and marching (useful for St George's Day and Church Parades), and get the chance to play a tune on a glockenspiel, bang the drums and blow a bugle!
Contact our Bandmaster, Richard Bennett, to book the Band for an event, or ask him for more information about joining us as a playing member (if you are under 14, you would need to be a member of the Scout or Guide Associations. 14 or over, you can be a Band only, Explorer Scout).
